De Apollobuurt is een wijk in Amsterdam Zuid en de Boerenwetering, het Noorderamstelkanaal, het Zuideramstelkanaal en de Parnassusweg met het Olympiaplein. De wijk heeft een ruime opzet met villa's, 19e-eeuwse herenhuizen en woningen in de stijl van de Amsterdamse School door elkaar heen. De bewoners zijn over het algemeen hoogopgeleid met gemiddeld een hoger inkomen, het merendeel van de (koop)woningen is relatief groot. Het Hiltonhotel en de Apollohal zijn bijzondere voorzieningen in de Apollobuurt. Amsterdamse School in de Apollobuurt De Apollobuurt is voor het grootste gedeelte gebouwd in de jaren 20 en 30 van de vorige eeuw en dat is te zien aan de huizen; deze zijn voor het merendeel gebouwd in de stijl van de Amsterdamse School. Straten vernoemd naar componisten De Bachstraat, Chopinstraat en de bekende winkelstraat de Beethovenstraat; het is slechts een greep uit de straten in de Apollobuurt die zijn genoemd naar beroemde componisten. Naast aan componisten hebben de straten in dit deel van Amsterdam Zuid hun namen ook te danken aan schilders en goden uit de Griekse mythologie. Voorbeelden hiervan zijn de Titiaanstraat, Leonardostraat en Raphaëlstraat en natuurlijk de Minerva- en Apollolaan, naamgever van de Apollobuurt..
